Reiner Gamma is a prime target for low-orbiting spacecraft or even surface-landed missions in the near future. The region hosts prominent lunar swirl that co-located with strong and well-structured magnetic anomaly. We simulate discuss Gamma's near-surface plasma environment at different altitudes above surface using fully kinetic particle-in-cell code iPIC3D. input field model based on orbital-altitude observations from Kaguya Lunar Prospector missions. develop eight simulation cases, representing distinct regimes. exposed to along typical orbit, including solar wind incidence angles magnetosheath crossing. show vastly depends critically upstream parameters, consistent predictions of standoff model. Our work helps define measurement requirements possible future lander mission area similarly magnetized regions surface.
